Who goes through more physical labor and stamina, An NFL player or a Race Car Driver?

A big debate between roommate and self. I say a football player goes through much more physical labor than a race car driver and he tells me they go through the same amount.

A race car driver must go through a lot of shifting and turning of the steering wheel, as well as , vibration from the car, but what about being tackled, running down the field, hitting other players and /or a pile of players landing on you.

This all dealt with the fact that i felt racers being able to handle racing at a later age than NFL players playing football.

A football player, duh. *I* have driven a car at 185mph. I wouldn't even consider trying to take a pass from Peyton Manning. Let's get real!
Reply:football, they have to do drill after drill, run alot memorize the offense and defence.rascar drivers only get hot.
Reply:Football
Reply:I would have to agree with your roommate. There is a whole lot more to it than just turning your wheel to the right, and going in a big circle.

1. It gets well over 140 degrees in those cars, which in and of itself will drain you of your energy.

2. They have to wear protective suit against fire, which is like wearing extreme cold weather gear in the heat of summer. (not real pleasent which would cause more fatigue).

3. Those cars do not have power steering, the pumps would not stand up to the extreme heat generated by the fuel they burn.

4. They are "tensed" for much longer periods of time (the average full lap is around 1 minute) and they will usually pit to take on fuel or new tires (if they don't crash) every 100 laps.

5. They are the sole operator, there is no offense or defensive players to take each others spot.

6. Races can last 4 to 6 hours, depending on the miles they drive.
