How can I build up my stamina?

I recently took up boxing and Ive been improving my running distance but when it comes to my boxing workout my stamina just wont cut it. what is a good way to build up my stamina?

How can I build up my stamina?
spar for long periods of time. Go as long as you can go and keep increasing number of rounds or time you spar when you feel comfortable doing so.
Reply:Roadwork is not the answer to improving boxing stamina. You need to perform at top speed and power for the same work/rest ratio as boxing. For example, a 3 minute round will be a 3:1 work:rest ratio.

Boxing is only 25% aerobic, and 75% anaerobic. Running is OK to give you that aerobic base, but your goal should be to increase your lactic acid threshold and your speed-strength. Try burpees, clapping push-ups and hill repeats. Hit the heavy bag for 3-4 extremely intense rounds. Train your core.

Rossboxing.com has some extremely good training article, and it speaks specifically to the outdated idea of long-distance running for boxers.

Good luck, and fight hard!
Reply:Hai Friend!

the stamina power increase for Breathing Exercise (Ex:Thai chi).Thai chi for chinese Martial Arts,This Martial art you will train 3 mounths ,sertienly change and increase for your stamina power
Reply:Start by hitting a heavy bag quickly for 3 min. non-stop. rest for 30 secs.

Do that about five times in a row.

do it every day.

a few weeks later add 30 secs. to your punching time. none to your rest

After you can punch for 5 min. take one min. rest.

If you stick with it you will be a better fighter i promise you.
Reply:Road work ,Road work, and more Road work. and when u work out stretch good and relax. Dont fight the bag like it took ur lunch money listen to ur trainer and work on what he/she tells u. Be loose in and out of the ring. tension eats ur stamina up. dont try to impress the gym by bombing the bags u will only wear out. Also try running up hills. I dont know where u live but when I trained I would go to Angeles national forest 5 times a week and run 5-10 miles in 6,000 foot altitude. ur lungs will burn but after a few months u will not beleive the results. running is very important. Do not smoke and cut back on alcohol. I hope this advice helps, goodluck.
Reply:Combine your training with Swiming, biking and running long distances. Swim a mile, than hop on the bike and bike at least 20mi. and last run at least a 10k.
Reply:run the same distance with weights
Reply:what size gloves do you use? say you use 10 oz gloves, get like two cans of whatever that's 16-20 oz, jog with those, keep them in the hands up defense the entire time while jogging, think it won't do anything??? TRY IT
Reply:running isn't going to give you stamina for fighting.. Do some punch out drills That will help. Keep yourself moving.
Reply:run up steep hills or steps and do wind sprints along with your regular running the harder you push yourself the better your stamins will be.
Reply:RUNNING is the only way to cut it. Maybe you need to lengthen your distance and increase your speed for more intensity. Also, vary your runs. You might want to try the hills. You know, uphill running will surely give you that lung power you're longing for. Just look at Manny Pacquiao. He swarms all over his opponent and never seem to get tired. "He's like the energizer bunny," says Mike Tyson himself. His secret? He runs the hills of Griffith Park when training in LA. and no one could stay with him. Keep running, man.
