You need to run at least 5 times each week and lift weight 2 or 3 times each week.

You will need to run 20 to 30 minutes to improve your cardiovascular system.

If you will run easy for a month you can increase your time and distance about 25% each month until you are at your goal.

If you have been running 1 mile almost everyday then you should be able to run farther now. Try running 2 miles very easy, don't worry about your pace.

You can alternate 2 miles and 1 mile until you are used to running the longer distance, which should be in a few weeks.

If you consistently run then you are improving your endurance and stamina.
Reply:The first thing to do is to talk to a local trainer and see if the lifting you are doing is helping your running. The body is composed of two muscle fibers. Fast twitch, normally found in football players and sprinters and slow twitch, usually found in marathon runners and soccer players. Eat more grapes. The skin in grapes provides more oxygen to the muscles allowing them to work harder and longer without tiring as fast. Cut out carbonated drinks. Carbonation doesn't allow oxygen in your blood to get to your muscles as easily and you may find less cramping while running.
Reply:run a lot
Reply:increase your distance each couple of weeks when you feel ready. run about a mile and a half this week. next couple of weeks do two miles
