I play football (soccer) in midfield and from what i know you generally either have speed or stamina. Is there exercises where ur can gain some speed but not comprimise ur stamina?
What kind of fitness program would i need to be on to gain speed but also still have alot of stamina?
If by speed you mean your running speed than you will need to do Farklets/Suicides/Triangles.
Set out a measurable distance in increments such as 10 Yards, 15 Yards, 20 Yards, 30 Yards, 40 Yards.
After that you need to sprint as fast as you can to the 10 Yard Marker, then walk back. Then run to the 15 Yard Marker, and walk back. Do that all the way until you get to your last measurement, then walk it back, and then go in decreasing order. (I.E. 10, 15, 20, 30, 40, 30, 20, 15, 10)
You can tweak the distances to your own discretion, but this is a simple routine that has proven effective for running backs, and sprinters, and even the Military Special Forces.
