What are a few good exercises to increase my stamina?

WITHOUT SPECIAL EQUIPMENT


I want to be able to run a mile easily.

What are a few good exercises to increase my stamina?
Jog, sprints, and especially jump rope are all very good for increasing stamina but if your like me and hate running and jumping rope i suggest playing a very running oriented rec game...like get some friends together and play basketball, ultimate frisbee, soccer, etc.
