What are your test day secrets? Do you eat anything special, do you do anything out of the ordinary?

I have one of the biggest test of my life tommorow. I am going for my exams to get my BS in Nursing. Any suggestions welcome. I am prepared as far my studying and knowledge are concerned. I am looking for good ways to relax and increase my stamina. This has the potential to become a six hour test. My attention span has a tendency to wonder after an hour or two. Sitting in that chair tommorow and staying focused is going to be hard. What are your secrets?

What are your test day secrets? Do you eat anything special, do you do anything out of the ordinary?
I write little notes of encouragement to myself all over the exam, i draw happy little faces too, stupid little things that will make me smile, because when I smile I relax, and I think much better when I am relaxed. All day that day I tell myself how fabulous I am going to do, I remind myself of how much I have studied, and I tell myself I know I can and deserve to do well. Saying it to myself helps me to believe it. Long exams are hard, so when they come I take mental breaks, I pause occasionally to think of something silly, outside of the exam, just to refresh my mind. Then I can go back clear. I try to remain upbeat, even if questions seem daunting, if I am stuck I move on quickly, because often clues to the answer lie ahead in the exam. I always star the answers I need to finish so I don't have to hunt for them later. I look for the simple part, grab on and go. And I keep telling myself how well I will do all through the exam, which is silly, but I swear it helps! Once you've studied and prepped, all that is left to do is maintain the attitude that will let you shine. Good luck on your exam!!!
Reply:try to be refreshed as much as possible.....i have found i was able to concentrate the best when well rested and well nourished....
Reply:i was a pre nursing major and switched to accounting and didn't have one problem.

i was very focused but don't know about others there
Reply:don't do anything out of the ordinary, don't eat anything special, you might get constipated or worse have LBM.

when you get up tommorow, don't review notes, don't read anything.
Reply:DO NOT DRINK COFEE OR TEA. trust me take my advice. try getting as much sleep as you possible can and eat refreshing thins like fruit to give you a satisfying meal. eat well and stay off the caffeine.
Reply:I was told by people studying for the MCATs that you should do something fun instead of studying on the very last night before the test, to get yourself grounded. Aside from that, absolutely anything can work as a good luck ritual as long as you believe it-- personally, I eat unsugared cereal and use nice-smelling hand lotion.
Reply:I would take a drink with me inside the testing room. Remain positive, relax. WHen it gets hard, skip it and make a mark or reminder in the scantron to go back to it. If you're feeling sleepy breath deeply and exhale. Take breaks here and there but not one every 30 min. Once an hour should be fine and don't take too long. Take 5 min breaks. Think of your purpose for taking the test and what you want to accomplish. GOOD LUCK! Eat soemthing light before the test like a bagel with creme cheese.
Reply:Eat a bowl of blueberries. It's brain food!
Reply:get a good night's sleep for starters. also, eat some protein (ie 2 pieces of toast with peanut butter and jelly) before you go. i always tell myself that i've studied very hard and that i will do GREAT on the test. take a bubble bath to relax :) you'll do fine
Reply:Tomorrow, when you wake up, you're going to feel this sudden, compulsive need to pull out your notecards/textbooks and start studying. No matter how prepared you think you are, no matter what your level of confidence, you're going to panic. Everyone does.

So don't. Don't study even the slightest bit past tonight. All you do then is bring a select few facts to the forefront, making it even harder to remember those things you'd previously memorized. My friends consistently call me crazy when I don't study the block before a test, but then I always outdo them, so there's probably something to it.

Outside of that, I'm not certain that breakfast really has too much to do with it. Never has for me. Just be sure you're relaxed - stressing out will freeze you up, and that's never a good thing. It may sound awfully 'slacker'-ish of me, but just remaining apathetic towards the questions and your results really does wonders.
Reply:Get alot of sleep and eat a breakfast with high protein like eggs and ham.
Reply:i just relax, eat a healthy breakfast, and review before you take the test at home, or whereever.
