I need to know how my cardio workout on the treadmill should be.
My goal is amazing stamina and speed. It's not about losing fat.
I just don't know how to do it, I was thinking of seeing at which speed can I run for 20 - 30 minutes and keep raising the speed.
And since it's a treadmill I obviously can't do any sprinting.
What is the best cardio exercise on a treadmill?
Use the machine programs and choose the hills or interval training. Both provide excellent workout options and burn more calories than going at one speed.
If you want to increase stamina, it seems to me that you would work on keeping a higher speed for a longer period of time.
Reply:Run at an incline
Reply:Try interval training. Got at the speed you normally go at that is a slight challenge then speed it up for a short interval. Then go back to your normal speed or below for a minute. You can also try running on the treadmill for intervals.
Reply:turn up the elevation if you can on your treadmill. you build better glutes and leg muscles when you have an incline. i forget whcih web site but go on and looking for treadmill routines. when i worked at the gym it was like 20 minutes and every so many minutes you would increase the incline but the speed always stayed at 4.5 i think. check it out.
