During exercise, should you breathe through your nose, mouth or a combination of both?

I already know when to inhale and when to exhale, but I'm wondering what the different effects are from breathing through the mouth versus the nose. I have asthma and am trying to breathe correctly while running to maximize my endurance and stamina.

Thanks.

In through your nose and out through your mouth because the nasal passage warms up and moistens the air, making it easier for your lungs utilize oxygen. It's also a way better filter than through your mouth which helps if workout during smoggy days
Reply:while your exercising breathe in your nose out your mouth for best results i know cause I've done it before
Reply:i know people say it's best to breathe with your nose and exhale with your mouth but, i do believe it all depends on what exercise you are doing.

When I run i only breathe(in%26amp;out) with my nose because if I use the mouth to exhale then, after a few km, I'll have a sore throat and if I inhale?exhale with my mouth I get too much air and i get cramps. the only bad thing about inhale/exhale with my nose is that i have to blow my nose several times but other than that I'm ok with it.

when I swim of course I inhale with my mouth and exhale with my nose.

good luck
Reply:The nose is the best.
