Any tips for someone who wants to start jogging?

I don't have much stamina, but my calves really start burning quickly - before I feel any other muscle or even before I get winded. Is this normal? Or am I using the wrong muscles. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

start out walking for 5 minutes then stretch. It's probaly just your body getting adjusted to a new exercise.

Reply:Oh I used to love that! Im pregnant now so I have laid off that for a while.


In regards to that when I began running oh it would hurt but my coach would push me to run.


What I did to ease the pain in my sides and the burning in my leg is I would run and then I would walk for a couple minutes, but not slow walk I mean like speed walk. That also works your muscles and get's them ready for the later workout. After a couple of months of running and speed walking I managed to fuly run without stopping two miles!


You feel very satisfied when you have reached the peak of your potential.

Reply:well my dad runs all the time, like in marathons and stuff, so i might be able to help. if you haven't ran or used those muscles in awhile then they're just getting used to the new excersise. that's the best of my running/jogging knowledge.
