What is the difference b/w unisexual and bisexual plants ?

Watermelon is said to unisexual - Does this mean that 1 watermelon plant has only stamens or carpels ?

What is the difference b/w unisexual and bisexual plants ?
The term unisexual and bisexual is applied to the flowers only.

The plant as a whole is Monoecious or Dioecious .

Let us try to understand the intricacies of these botanical terms using Watermelon as one of the example =

Watermelon flowers are yellow, five-petaled flowers about an inch in diameter (smaller than some of the other vine fruits).

(((((Watermelon vines, like squash, pumpkin, and cucumber, have separate male and female flowers on the same plant. ))))

The above paragraph in multiple bracket is very useful to you .

In watermelon One and the same plant ( Vine ) bears male and female flowers.

So the flowers are UNISEXUAL but the plant ( vine ) is said to be Monoecious !!

KIndly click on the link below to see Male and Female flowers of Water melon (The scientific name is Citrullus lanatus)=

This is a female flower.

Thus watermelon has some flowers with ONLY stamens and some flowers with ONLY carpels on one and the same plant or vine !!!!

Now let us talk about Papaya ==

In Papaya not only flowers are unisexual BUT the plants are also different .

Some Papaya tree bears only Male flowers and some only female flowers . Thus in Papaya the flowers are unisexual and the Plant ( Tree ) is Dioecious . ( Remember watermelon is monocious )

Reply:plants with unisexual floewrs have either pistillate[female flowers or the flowers with gynoecium]or staminate [male flowers or flowers with androecium].bisexual flowers have both androecium and gynoecium in the same flowers.no it has both male and female flowers but they r present differently.
