My son is 10 years old %26amp; he is a swimmer at national level he swims about 4 km every other day as training. His stamina %26amp; speed is above average. He's kind of a strong.
Can I know the best physical excursive for him to improve his speed %26amp; endurance?
What are the best work out for a young %26amp; energatic swimmer ?
of course you must realize everyone's body is different and that a workout that is best for one may not be what is best for another.....no two bodies are alike correct?? Of course our culture doesn't like to admit to this when it comes to exercise and diet in the mainstream....
YOu said it yourself Mom, your son is on a national level at 10! His stamina and speed is above average!! He is kind of strong????
I think he is already getting the best possible workout he can get right there in the pool.
You said he is swimming every other day or just that he is swimming the 4km every other day?
. As for endurance this is also something that can be accomplished simply by practice practice practice....he must continue to swim much distance on a regular basis.
As far as speed, again this is with practice on a regular basis. Do they let him use fins in the pool? This is a great method in helping in the training of "speed" in the pool. It builds strength in the legs as well as builds confidence.
You know something that is left out of these posts that many do not seem to realize is that swimming has a great deal not only to do with physical abilities but with your mind as well. Please be sure that your son has the mental capabilities as well. If he is focused this will help LOADS in the improvement of speed. We used to write a "goal" time on our hands before an event. You might be surprised at how much faster one might go.
As he begins to grow he will be able to decide what is best for him as he gets to know his body....
Reply:ahh yes the hand paddles...how did those ever escape my mind.... :: sigh :: the illness and meds i am on...but alas...yes those too are so wonderful! your child is fine as he is! he can only improve! at 10 in Nationals WTG! Report It
Reply:swim dolphin kick no arm 50m
Reply:Do lots of cardio work, pull ups and running and have him lay on his back, have him lift his legs up 5 in ches off the ground and tell him to kick (good abb workout!)
Reply:Take Jason Statham's advice. He was an olympic swimmer. Have your son do vertical leaps from the squat position and reach for the sky.
