How to increase stamina during swimming?

I always get tired when I do like two laps! I have to rest for 5-7 minutes before I can go again. It's been like this since childhood.

How can I increase my stamina so that I can swim many laps at once?

How to increase stamina during swimming?
Always push yourself to do another lap or 2. thats the only way ur going to get better/increase stamina

Try to improve daily.
Reply:Just keep swimming and build your strength. Are you swimming all out for these two laps, like sprinting? Or, are you pacing yourself, like jogging?

Just keep doing the two lap repetition and go for three, then four, etc. Don't give up. You have to push yourself. Try using a kickboard to build your legs to help your arms. I suspect you are so tired because you're using all arms.
Reply:Keep swimming until you cannot swim anymore and then swim some more. The more you swim when you are tired will allow you to swim longer next time. Just keep doing it until your body can only float in the water. Also run and bike a lot when no pool is around. It is all about cardio workouts. Train your heart to go longer. It will really suck at first but eventually you will get there and beyond. Just don't give up and push your body harder then you think you can.
Reply:The first thing is to gradually take it easy and get faster. If you're doing flip turns then don't do them, these take away vital oxygen for you.

Next you may want to go slower in your actual stroke technique since this may also affect your blood's oxygen levels. Just take it easy and eventually you'll gain more stamina and will therefore gain the ability to do more laps at once.
Reply:Just keep on practising, and you will be able to do more laps. Mabye swim at a slower pace to start, depending on if you are doing long distance or short.

Good luck!!!
Reply:Swimming is a really tiring sport. It works your whole body and it will take some time for your body to adjust to it. I started swimming when I was 9 and I remember not being able to swim even one lap. I get practicing though and I pushed myself to swim one more lap each time I went to the pool. You could also lift weights on land and it will help build muscle which might help you swim for a longer amount of time. Also, if you are still having trouble, join a swim group that swims on weekends or something for adults. Other people will push you and before you know it you will be swimming miles at once! It worked for me!

i mean... if you feel as if your going to just drown/faint/die then do another 2 laps and then you can feel accomplished. Then the next time to another 2 laps on top of that!!! just keep increasing it %26lt;- thats literally what they do in swim practices. the coaches makes sets that push swimmers a bit past the point of feeling like they are going to faint/throw up with exhaustion (to the point where they actually are!)
